outreach

In addition to tackling exciting research problems, the Nano Group is building strong bonds to both New Hampshire based high-technology industries and New Hampshire based K-12 teachers and students.

Our industrial outreach is highlighted by the recent formation of a New Hampshire based Nanotechnology Industrial Advisory Board (NH Nano-IAB).  The NH Nano-IAB is designed to unite NH high technology business leaders with UNH faculty and students for the purposes of identifying common interests and spurring collaborations.  The first meeting of the NH Nano-IAB is planned for early 2007 at UNH.

Our K-12 outreach activities are designed to immerse K-12 teachers and students into the exciting world of nanotechnology while encouraging science and technology education.  To do these things, we host K-12 groups for UNH nanotech field-trips, we visit classrooms around the state to make nanotechnology presentations, we organize statewide nanotechology conferences and institutes for K-12 teachers, and we attend many other events which expose K-12 teachers and students to nanotechnology.  A sampling of our recent activities are listed below.  For more details, click on any of the links:
